This wonderful Log Cabin Quilt is all hand pieced and hand quilted. It is comprised of phenomenal wools and wool challis, including a very early turkey red wool challis. The quilt has a double border and a fabulous olive green dot and floral backing. While the quilt dates to c.1865, the fabrics in it date from 1840-1865. There is minimal quilting on this piece, but usually log cabin quilts are not quilted at all. This is a terrific artistic piece, and will be absolutely wonderful as a hanging piece of artwork. There are a few original moth holes in various places on this piece, but they are very minor.
