Let's talk about Happy...which is what we all want and need ....Well,
this is a quilt that inspires lots of Happy!!
Someone had a great sense of humor combining whimsical umbrellas and
bonnets of different ilks, in pastel colors, floating in the air ....
These conversation prints combined with Depression era solid pastels
pieced in a circular motion, almost like a whirligig, inspiring a
floating feeling of joy and happiness.
Measuring 74" X 74" and created from 25 blocks that are 15" square.
There is a 1-3/4" separately applied binding attached by treadle machine.
The quilt is sparsely tied. Unused would be the way to describe this
wonderful, whimsical Kaleidoscope quilt. It is a summer weight, meaning
no batting. The advantage to this is that this quilt can be used year
round. Winter over a comforter...summer, as is.
Personally, I would love to see this quilt as a piece of wall art.
However a bed is also another perfect place for this funky quilt.
