Spectacular is an understatement! This quilt is a dynamic piece of
textile art...I say this because I feel this quilt should be hung as a
stunning piece of Art in any room in your home or office! I say office
as, I have seen, beautiful quilts tend to relax people in different
environments.
The design is created from wool and wool Challis with the backing being
a blue cotton chambray.
As with all Antique Amish quilts, this one is pieced by machine, then
exquisitely hand quilted. The two stunning colors are a deep purple and
a slate green with a 1-3/8" black binding.
The quilting in the center Diamond is an exquisite wreath with an eight
pointed star in the middle. The four corner sawtooth designs are, as
always, meticulously quilted with leaves and blooms. The borders
measure 12" before the binding. The quilting is perfect and again
quilted with elegant wreaths...all around the perimiter of the quilt.
The corner blocks measure 12" x 12" and are quilted baskets with a
handle created from a wreath design. Each basket is quilted in a
crosshatch design of a 1/2" diagonal grid.
