This spectacular doll quilt must have been created for an affluent little girl’s doll. It is a perfect miniature of an adult’s Victorian crazy quilt. It originally had a red challis backing that has mostly been removed. It appears that at the turn of the century someone added a little ring for it to hang on the wall. It is in unused condition. This is a rare Victorian piece of art. Are these fabrics remnants from silk velvets that the original maker was using to make her Crazy Quilt? Even the 3/8 inch binding on this piece is silk velvet.
