Q8552 Folk Art Log Cabin with Broken Dishes Centers
Dated 1921
62 x 66
Bucks County, Pennsylvania
Was $1,400 now $700
This original design blue and white quilt with a folk art feel was created by nestling a 6 inch center block of Broken Dishes into a Log Cabin frame of 1 inch logs. Alternating logs of blue chambray and white cotton create a striped effect that is lively and fun, while the color palette provides a soothing undertone. The center block of the quilt has been dated 1921 in hand embroidered, padded satin stitch on a yellow background.
Entirely hand pieced and hand quilted with chevrons in the border and outlining along one side of each log. The lighter blue chambray border is approximately 5 inches wide, with a ½ inch hand stitched binding formed by the front fabric folding over to the back. The backing is white cotton and the quilt is filled with batting just thick enough to be called comfy and cozy. In used and lovingly cared for condition it has been professionally hand washed by Betsey and is ready to be reviewed by you in your home on approval before purchase.
