QB6 Eight Point Cotton Crazy Quilt Star Quilt Blocks
c.1880
approximately 20" diameter
$85 each

Each of these fabulous Crazy Quilt star quilt blocks has been foundation pieced by hand onto muslin backing. The stars are comprised of eight diamonds each measuring approximately 5 inches per side. The diamonds are treadle machine sewn together to form the stars - see detail images. Basting stitches are still present on almost every diamond - these stitches are meant to be removed after the completion of the piece and they can be seen in white, red, ecru and black threads. A wonderful and wide range of designs and colors make up the cotton fabrics used in the making of these great stars; early calicos, indigos, mourning prints, paisleys, plaids, conversation prints, over dyed green, double pinks, and it goes on, even cheater fabrics can be found! All fabrics are in excellent, unused condition, and no fabric is missing from any star. What fun! Call for availability. Sold separately.
