BTG88B Child's Schoolhouse Quilt
c.1928
38 x 69 inches
New England
$750
An origonal size child's quilt that was hardly used and is now hand
washed with an organic product.
There are 24 blocks measuring 9-1/2" square. A seperately applied
binding measures 3/8" and is finished by hand. There is one white square
that was restored with the same date fabric. This was due to staining
that I could not get out..There was and is no wear on this special
piece. This green was one of the two most popular colors in the 20's.
All piecing and quilting was executed by treadle machine. The reason for
treadle work vs. hand work is that a child's quilt needs to be washed a lot!
With only two colors..white and a solid green...this quilt will easily
fit into your decor.
