A one of a kind incredible pieced quilt was created from various Hudson's
Bay Blankets. On the back is one of their labels. When originally
received I thought the company made a custom piece for a special client.
But when we had to take it apart we even found pins inside...this was
created by a quilter that loved the blankets and wanted the warmth!
Created from 54 7" X 7" squares in a variation of Broken Dishes.
There is a center medallion measuring 16" X 16" in a sunburst variation
design. There is a 1-1/4" white woolen blanket sashing between the
blocks. The back fuzzy border measures apx. 4". The back is a solid
cotton in black.
The story behind this quilt as you see it: When I received this quilt --
we always hang them to do photography -- well...this quilt puckered in the
middle and waved on the right side. Now comes problem solving and fixing
the problem. 99% of everything I sell in my shop is in original
condition...once in a while I find a problem after purchasing! This
quilt is an example! It turns out that the center square did not have
matching sides in width. This means making it right. Once this was
solved we needed to add 6" of same date or earlier fabric to 2 sides.
Now it is right!!
