CONJS11 Baltimore Album Quilt

The Baltimore Album quilt is famous for its designs and perfection of needle work... quilting, applique and embroidery. This stunning piece was a mint quilt prior to its washing. A mint quilt means never used and never washed...once washed it becomes an unused quilt.

Consisting of 15 different appliqued designs perfectly executed. This prestigious school demanded perfection and it shows. Please take note that at this time we, as women, were the property of our Fathers and later our husbands..with no vote. The skill with a needle was schooled from the age of a little girl. All of these magnificent quilts were created by young ladies whose families were very wealthy. Private schools were and still are very costly. It seems today we are once again fighting for our rights.

The quilting techniques displayed here...in addition to any original squares, are applique, reverse applique, embroidery and of coarse perfect quilting. We even have a flower with layered petals! As required all of these techniques are perfectly executed. There are 20 blocks each measuring 16" sides. There are wreaths, two variations of the Princess Feather design, elaborate Pots Of Flowers, Unique intersecting large leaves, Rose Wreaths, Tropical Flowers and more. Each square is perfectly executed. Every piece is outline quilted. The entire quilt is quilted in a cross hatch grid 1" apart with the 5-1/2" border quilted in a double line meandering leaf line surrounded with the same crosshatch pattern as the main body of the quilt. The 1/4" binding is turned over from the back to the front.

This perfectly executed Baltimore Album quilt is now Organically hand washed and ready to be sent, with free shipping for your approval. Name of maker upon sale.
