What fun to find what we believe is a charm quilt! A charm quilt
means there are no repeats of patterns. There are hundreds of different
prints dating from C.1840 to C.1875. Where and how did this quilter
collect all of these fabrics? The answer has been lost in time, but I
wish the answer were known. The array of colors and patterns is fabulous!
Each "tumbler" measures 2-3/4" X 1-3/4". Piecing was all executed by
machine with the finishing done by hand tying. The backing of this quilt
is a fine natural color linen. The edge is pillowcased..meaning the
fabrics were turned under and machine stitched closed.
Now hand washed with organic products, and ready to be sent with free
