Q9318 Log Cabin Barn Raising Quilt
c.1895

$1,400

Many quilt lovers think of this pattern as Amish...However, the Log Cabin Pattern is one of the oldest known patterns and actually came to us from England.

Created from fabrics dating from 1870 to the 1890's. Other than the light lemon chimney's (the color was relatively new in the 1890's) and a khaki brown, all fabrics are calicoes. There is a selection of great fabrics!

The Logs measure 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" in width. The longest is 13" down to the shortest of 3". The chimney is 3" square. The quilting goes through the center of each strip with the chimney quilted with an "X". The binding is 1/4" and turned over from the back to the front and closed by treadle machine. The piecing was also executed by machine.

Now organically washed by hand and ready to send on approval with free shipping.
