We always have trouble hanging quilt tops, but this one is really hard to hang. Even though it squarely measures 86" by 86", it's not going to look that way in this picture. Sorry...! The fabrics would have been from the clothing of Amish children during warmer weather. The strips are all pieced by machine. The four block corners are pieced by machine. But the diamonds in the star are pieced by hand. There is a dime-sized hole in a blue and pink piece. I will send along original same-date fabric for you to restore this piece. Antique quilt tops were never washed before they were quilted so this one remains unwashed. However, I do recommend a good ironing before quilting.
