QT826 Hole in the Barn Door Quilt Top
c.1895
80 x 80 inches
Maine
$475
Most of the fabrics used to create this very precisely made quilt top
date from the 1880's...however there are a few 1890's fabrics which dates
the piece. If you are a quilter and a fabric junkie this may be a piece
for you to quilt. Each block is 9" square of which there are 49 created
from a huge variety of prints. There is not a solid color piece of
fabric on the entire quilt top! Entirely pieced by hand with perfect
tiny stitches . The main colors are burgundy, gray, indigo and green.
The sashing which measures 2" in width is a very unusual black and white
fabric. All center squares of the blocks are blue and white prints.
In pristine condition and ready to quilt.
